This collection blends the timeless elegance of Art Deco with the dynamic, vibrant spirit of Naga artistry, creating pieces that are not only functional but also rich in cultural significance and artistic beauty. With a focus on crafting a bespoke range for the refined gentleman's study, I draw inspiration from keywords such as Vigour, Bold, Enchanted, and Refined.

Since the brand has been focusing on the Art Deco style of furniture, I was directed to work on the same style but with a twist by incorporating a new cultural influence. After  discussions, it was decided that I would collaborate with Art Deco and infuse a strongfrom India into the design. tribal culture  The goal of this collaboration is to design a range of study room furniture for a male audience.

Naga Craftsmanship and Culture
The Nagas encompass a variety of ethnic groups native to northwest Myanmar and northeastern India. Naga tribes are celebrated for their warmth, brilliance, and artistic prowess. Their exquisite craftsmanship in bamboo, cane work, and woodcarving reflects their deep-rooted traditions. The tribe's vibrant culture comes alive through traditional dances, music and crafts. Naga women showcase their artistry through vibrant weavings. Both men and women design elaborate headgear, often adorned with hornbill feathers, brass, and human hair.

Tattoos and clothing signify clan identity and social status among the Nagas. Specific patterns and colors, like red for senior citizens, carry deep cultural significance. Architectural elements, such as the carved front wall panels of chiefs' homes, symbolize fertility, prosperity, and power.

Animal Motifs and Woodcraft
Naga woodcraft features symbolic animal motifs, with the mithun and hornbill being the most prevalent. These motifs represent virtues like fertility, strength, and warrior prowess. Skilled woodcarving is a male-dominated craft, used in both everyday items and ceremonial decorations, particularly in the homes of tribal chiefs and social elites.
